TYPES OF FABRICS Oxford Garden® is proud to offer our cushions and upholstery in a variety of high-quality outdoor fabrics. Sunbrella® DESCRIPTION Sunbrella® fabrics are made with close attention to design detail. The fabric is tactile yet durable, has industry-leading environmental characteristics, is easy to care for and offers long life – wherever it’s used. DURABILITY Engineered with robust performance characteristics that provide resistance to fading and degradation from sunlight and chemical exposure, Sunbrella® fabrics are 100% solution-dyed acrylic, meaning the fibers are dyed in a color solution before they are woven—not printed on after the fabric base cloth is made. These fabrics are water-resistant, so the colors stay true for a long period of time. Solution-Dyed Olefin DESCRIPTION Solution-dyed olefin is a soft, lightweight woven fabric designed for outdoor use. Its refined appearance makes it an ideal fabric for outdoor projects where you want a durable fabric that’s still soft and chic. DURABILITY Solution-dyed olefin fabrics are mildew and chlorine resistant, quick-drying, and water repellent. Dye is added to a liquid polymer solution before being spun into fibers to create fabric. This process makes the fabric color-true, all the way through to its core. Solution-Dyed Polyester DESCRIPTION Solution-dyed polyester fabrics are an economical option for outdoor cushions and umbrellas. These fabrics have the look and feel of cotton with the strength, weather, and sun resistance of polyester. DURABILITY Solution-dyed polyester is strong, resistant to stretching and shrinking, resistant to chemical damage, quick-drying, wrinkle-resistant, and is crisp and resilient when wet or dry. The fabric also resists rot from outdoor elements. Back to all materials
