Shorea

Shorea

Used for many years as a decking material on boats, Shorea is a tested material for durability and longevity in even the harshest weather conditions. Shorea wood is a tropical hardwood that grows naturally and plentifully in Southeast Asia. Shorea is similar to teak outdoor furniture; however, the price point is much more affordable without sacrificing quality and appearance. Heavy and dense, shorea outdoor wood furniture is highly resistant to rot and infestation, able to endure for years in many weather climates.
Care
For seasonal cleaning, rinse the furniture and use a sponge or soft bristle brush to scrub with a mild cleaning solution. Rinse with fresh water. Wood weathers naturally to a beautiful silvery gray color unless treated. Oxford Garden recommends Australian Timber Oil or Teak Shield to slow the graying process and enhance the natural wood color.
